mexico beach

Postby Atlanta Angler » Thu Feb 12, 2004 8:13 pm

I will be visiting mexico beach florida valentines weekend from Atlanta and will not have my boat with me this trip, I was wanting to know if surffishing at this time of year is productive, or are there any locations accessible by foot or 4 wheel drive that could render either reds, trout or flounder.

Atlanta Angler, On the Beach, put a dead Pogie or a peice of a Blue Crab on the bottom and catch you one of those Bull Reds, there should be some cruising the beach. Maybe find a Pompano or some Whiting with Sand Flea's and Shrimp, Note: Speck season is CLOSED, catch and release only. The Specks and Flounder can be caught in the Bayou's and Creeks. Slow, slow retive a D.O.A. 1/4oz. jig head with a Rootbeer/Chart. Shad Tail to catch them.
Good Fishing,
Capt. Eddie
