Got back in town late last night. Had a afternoon trip with a father and son. With the weather barely climbing out of the 60's and a strong wind keeping things cool. We launched at noon and fished till 7. We spent most of the day showing his son how to work different lures and how to set the hook. We started out with a shakey head and never set it down. We catch several 2 - 2 1/2 pounders with our biggest fish weighing just over 3 pounds. We only fished three baits all day. One being a shakey head, the second being a crankbait, and the thrid was a topwater lure. To have a young men on the boat so interested in learning about fishing was a blast. It didn't matter if he caught a small or big fish, his reaction was the same. It's days like this that make me realize how lucky I am. We caught a couple fish on homemade balse baits. And picked up 5 quality bass on two different topwater lures. His dad and me caught two a piece on lunker punkers and he got one off a pop r. Thanks for the great day guys.
