Jordan Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Recent guided fishing trips with Reeds Guide Service (Alabama's oldest, professional guide service) to Alabama's lower Coosa River Impoundment Jordan lake, located mid-state near the state capitol of Montgomery, Alabama, has shown some tremendous spotted bass, with some exceeding 5 pounds!
Topwater lures bring explosive strikes on lures like zara spooks, poppers, buzz baits and prop baits. Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, lipless lures, suspending jerk baits and jig combos are good lures too!

Around aquatic weeds, standing timber, rock bluffs, rocky points, rip-rap lined rock banks and in the upper lake's headwaters fishing below the Mitchell lake dam area, have all been good locations as the lake's waters begin to cool, showing schooling bass hitting shad throughout the day.
Water temps are currently the same as daytime air temps, both close to 75 degrees. Nighttime lows are in the low 50's this week with little rain in sight.
As October ends its gets even better! November and even early December are great months as well with some of the years biggest spotted bass taken as water temps dip into the low 50's.
Looking to get in on some of Alabama's big spotted bass action? Also big, largemouth bass and some big striped bass!
