Lake Eufaula, Alabama

Capt. Sam Williams
June 15, 2012
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Level, not available at time of report
Clarity, stained just right
Temperature 85+

The lake is in great shape, plenty of pads and grass for early morning cover and the ledge fishing is getting back like the old days. The fish are in fantastic shape. Reports from the game Biologists survey on the spawn show a very successful hatch. If we eat some of the smaller bass the balance will get back to normal and our bigger bass will start to gain numbers.

The early morning top water bite has been good and the longer the sun stays behind the clouds, the longer the bite lasts. The ledge fishing has been producing numbers in one spot, Otho Sanders, from Albany, Ga. told me he went to one of his old ledge spots during the Lee King tournament and stayed there all day. They caught a limit before 10.00 and culled the rest of the day.Crank baits,Carolina rigs and jigs ate the trick.

Pan fish are doing good on worms and crickets around the edges where you find pads, grass or blow downs

Catfish are also biting and are really fun to catch and eat.

Summer time is here for sure, be sure and use plenty of sun screen and keep water on board. Be safe and always keep your kill switch attached to your flotation device, it will save your live. We do not need any more loss' on the river this year. Use the channel and river markers, the water is not at full pool and there are trees and stumps just below the surface, if you leave the main channels, idle to your fishing hole, it could save you some down time and money.

Please visit www.leekingbenefir.org and see the ways you can be a part of funding a cure for these precious, terminal kid's. We are in a new promotion, supported by Bonnie Plants, "Fish with a Pro" on Lake Eufaula, Alabama. This year one ticket gives you an opportunity for two chances to win. Timmy Horton and Keith Poche have joined with us for the first year. We pray for more Pro's to join us in the future. We appreciate your continued support.

God Bless & Good Fishn'
