Lake Eufaula, Alabama

Capt. Sam Williams
July 17, 2014
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Lake Level 188.49 msl
Water Temperature mid 80's
Water Clarity Clear to slight stain

The overcast days and present cold front have made for some nice fishing. The bass are still hitting shallow and can be found on the deeper structure. Working a jig with a good trailer very slow is a good choice. Crank baits and Carolina rigs or heavy Texas rigs are working in the deeper areas.

Crappie are hitting a jig on deep structure and minnows are working under the bridges in the shaded areas.

Bluegill's and Shell crackers are doing well on worms.

Catfish are really getting active on jug's and the tight line fisherman is getting a good mess to eat on the drops in the creeks using worms or cut bait.

The hot days mean plenty of water and sun screen. Be safe and enjoy God's great outdoors. School will be back in session soon, take your kid's fishing and get in some quality time building memories they will tell your grandchildren about.
