Alabama Fishing Report for Lake Eufaula

Capt. Sam Williams
September 20, 2003
Lake Eufaula - Freshwater Fishing Report

Bass fishing has really been exciting lately. They have finally started to stage on the deeper ledges, especially outside the mouths of the creeks. With the generators pulling, the bait are coming out of the creeks and the ambush areas where the creek and river meet are great catching points. You need heavy weights to keep the bait on the bottom in the current. The fish are suspending off the bottom, guage the length of your leader by the distance they are up off the bottom. If they are too far up, try a crank bait and if they are too deep for that go to a vertical action with a heavy spoon. These fish are beeing found in water from 25 to 60 feet deep. The early and late action is still in the vegetation where the bait fish are located. The water is still up quite a bit and the top water and spinner bait action is really fun. There is nothing better than seeing an active bass blow up on a top water plug. It's good for the heart too.

Bream and cats are still coperative for the laid back fisherman. Nothing like a relaxed day catching some of the best eating fish there are in fresh water.

We now have the official tickets for the Stratos/Mercury Boat project for Neimann-Pick. We must sell tickets for research money. We had 7 Doctors present research prograns to find a cure to save these precious children. There was only enough money to fund two. What if, one of the other 5 Doctors had the program that would cure the children? We canot allow this to happen again. Please be a "partner for a cure" and make a $100.00 deductable donation and get a chance on this fantastic rig. Go to www.leekingbenefit.org and see the boat. Download an entry form and mail it in. Together we can make a difference and save the children.

'Till next report,

God Bless & Good Fishn

Capt. Sam Williams
