Lake Guntersville Bass Fishing Guide Report

Capt. Jim Leary
June 29, 2015
Lake Guntersville - Freshwater Fishing Report

This past week was very Hot and hard to stay longer then 6 hours at a time on the water with air temps reaching close to 100 degrees and water temp hitting 93 on most days the Bass didn't seem to mind it at all. This week was a Big Bass Week Quality Was The Name Of The Game. We avg. 10-12 Bass Each Trip except Megan's trip it was just 3 giants and one 3 pounder. I know a lot of men who would do just about anything to catch what she had..

This week consist of business men passing through, tournament anglers, birthday boy, husband & wife, Father & Sons. This fishing is great and we are just keeping it simple, our best baits have been NetBait C-Mac worm 11 & 15 inch Texas rigged on a half ounce weight in Green Pumpkin and June Bug and a 4x4 Bass Jig in Guntersville Magic with a NetBait Paca Craw on the back, we are finding our fish in 15-20 feet of water catching 2-3 off a spot then moving to the next and repeating some spots have more then that but the big ones are the 1st ones to fire on the spots. Hard bottoms are the key to finding these big bass and Lowrance HDS units is making that part of the puzzle easy. One more tip we have scaled back in line size and its making a difference ( I think so at-least) 12-14 lb Sunline Sniper FC we are now fighting them just a little bit longer and they get to jump a few more times before we land them and the heart beats a little bit more but it is all fun.

Meet The Bantz's they came from Springfield Missouri to fish with us and the boys also known as KVD & Skeet Reese and these two can flat out catch these bass.

June has proved to be a great month for quality and numbers. July and August are next on the menu of something new to do and Flipping and Frogging are looking pretty darn good if you'd like to do this now is the time to get your date picked out and booked. My froggin dates are filling up as a FYI October is my Favorite Month to Frog the last two weeks are already filling up so don't miss out on this addicting method.
Have a Great 4th and eat plenty of BBQ preferably from Bone Yard BBQ the best there is.
