Capt. Reed Montgomery
November 27, 2014
Lay Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

* Go to Reed Montgomery's website www.fishingalabama.com and read, "Please Read This Reed Needs Your Help" article on home page.

* Also donations can be sent to www.youcaring.com just type in "Reed Montgomery" in the search box to see Reeds Case or see the link directly to his youcaring case on his website article.

* There will be a www.Airportmarine.com sponsored "Benefit Reed Montgomery Bass Tournament" to be held out of Beeswax Creek on Alabama's Lay Lake Saturday, December 13 2014 from dawn to 3 p.m.

This is a tax deductable bass tournament for 2014! Welcome to all anglers for a possible chance to win around or over $1000.00!

* Proceeds from this bass tournamment are to go to Reed Mongomery's very expensive Cancer of the Pancreas operation and bills already coming in, as he was just diagnosed.

He needs this operation now! They are out of money, out of work now for both him and his wife, losing their income and insurance, which is obviously not a welcome sight at most hospitals not without cash...

* Lay Lake Conditions / For the first week of December 2014. By Reed Montgomery

Water Temps Low 50's / Lake - Clear and most feeder Creeks Clear, may be rain by then possibly staining some creeks.

Lake Level Full Pool

If fishing slow on bottom with watermelon colored Shaky Head 4-5 inch worms or another rod rigged with a natural-colored 6-10 inch worm, tube bait, lizard, beaver-type or Texas-rigged creature bait an angler in the back of the boat will do well catching both spotted bass and largemouth bass in cold water conditions on Lay lake.

The angler in the front of the boat will really have control of the boat and needs to really slow down for himself, the bass, and the benefit of the angler in the back of the boat, who will fish used water in a slow fashion and pick up needed bass.

The angler in the front of the boat needs to stick with it all day, slowly, with basically only a few lures. Especialy A Jig Combo. Black and blue, watermelon, pumpkinseed, brown and orange all work, or an all black 1/2 ounce to 3/4 ounce jig and trailer combo in deep water.

Swimming a jig combo, Pitchin' a jig combo when in close to weed lines in clear water, or flipping thick matted weeds and wood cover (especially in stained water) works great in December on Lay lake! These are tournament winning tactics!

Thanks and Good Luck in this very important Lay Lake Bass Tournament December 13 Beeswax Creek!Spread the Word! You want to attend for your sake and mine.
