Alabama Gulf Coast Fishing in August

Capt. Don McPherson
August 24, 2009
Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Red snapper are everywhere. The red snapper season closed August 14th but you can still enjoy some catch and release on light tackle., This is an absolute blast catching 10 - 15 pound fish. We fish high in the water column using circle hooks which allows to safely reease these fish. Amberjack are biting very well on the 10 and 12 hour charters. Hang on when you get one of these fighters on the line.
King Mackerel are being caught just off the beach and can be enjoyed on a 4 hour charter.

White marlin, blue marlin, sailfish and wahoo are being caught on the full day charters. No giant have been caught yet but it is always awesome to catch a marlin off the Alabama Gulf Coast. Call me, Captain Don, at 251-981-8047 for more info.

As you can see you have a choice of trips. Come on and let's go fishing.

Target Species:

amberjack, king mackerel, white marlin, wahoo
