Fishing Orange Beach for big bull redfish

Capt. Don McPherson
September 28, 2008
Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

It is late September in Orange Beach Alabama and the weather is absolutely beautiful. It just doesn't get much better than this. And the fishing? The king mackerel and Spanish mackerel bite is red hot. Enjoy this light tackle fishing for some exciting mackerel fishing. The big bull redfish have begun to appear just off Orange Beach, Alabama. The redfish should become plentiful within a few weeks. Fishing Orange Beach for offshore species is good with catches of wahoo, grouper, amberjack and much more. Come enjoy this great Orange Beach fishing with me, Captain Don

Orange Beach Fishing Forecast:

October & November Fishing Forecast from Orange Beach for the Alabama Gulf Coast. Cooler temperatures and less fishing pressure should provide us with some great fishing in October & November. King mackerel, Spanish mackerel and jack crevalle are among some of the fish you will likely catch nearshore just off the beaches. The big bull redfish bite will most likely be on in October. Isolated redfish have already been caught. They will be around until early April. A 4 or 6 hour trip is all you need. Offshore bottomfishing for amberjack, scamp grouper, vermillion snapper, king mackerel and much more will continue throughout the fall and year round. Plan on a full day trip to target these fish. Do not forget our deepdrop fishing. We are excited and have great expectations from this deepwater fishing in depths up to 1,000 feet of water. Come enjoy our lightweight, high tech reels and explore the deep, dark waters. Offshore big game trolling has been almost non existant this summer with the lack of pretty blue water. Well, the blue water has arrived, thanks to the push from Hurricane Gustav. We have already received a few reports of wahoo, dolphin and white marlin caught in the past few days. We have been waiting on this all summer. October should produce some wahoo, dolphin and marlin. Whether you are looking for a few hours on the gulf or a full day trip, this is a great time of year to enjoy some saltwater fishing along the Alabama Gulf Coast. Come join me, Captain Don McPherson, on the Getaway for some fun and fishing.
