Gulf Coast Fishing Report - Orange Beach

Capt. Don McPherson

Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

February Deep Sea Fishing

Spring is almost here and we are really excited about fishing in 2006. The Cobia(Ling) should be running along the beaches by mid March. Red Snapper season opens April 21st. As for now, fishing is still good for vermillion snapper, triggerfish, white snapper, grouper and amberjack. A couple of boats fished last week. One boat had some amberjack in the 15 - 20 lb range. Also a few grouper. This was a 12 hour trip.

Another boat had triggerfish, vermillion snapper, white snapper and a few small grouper. This was an 8 hour trip.

Don't forget the Red Snapper World Championship Tournament which begins April 21st and runs through May 21st. Most Fridays and Saturdays are booked with all of the boats, but there are a few that have open dates. Weekdays and Sundays are still opens with many boats. Check out my website at www.getawaygulffishing.com for more information.
