Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fun and Fishing on the Alabama Gulf Coast
The past week has been all about fun and fishing. I have enjoyed watching many moms and dads with their sons and daughters having a great time on the back deck of the Getaway. One moment they are reeling in a fish and the next moment they are watching a dolphin play around the boat. This year has really made me understand that there is so much more to a fishing trip than just catching fish. Don\'t get me wrong. Our goal is to always catch fish. However, this is the first time on the gulf for many people and they enjoy the sightseeing as well as the fishing. Our new satellite stereo system on the back deck has added more entertainment for everyone. I have received very positive feedback from everyone.
Now for the fishing. Our 4 hour trips are still producing spanish mackeral and king mackeral. These are trolling trips nearshore. The 6 hour trips are still producing mackeral and a few snapper.
Our 12 hour trips have landed variety including red grouper, gag grouper, scamp, red snapper, big vermillion snapper, king mackeral, white snapper, black snapper, amberjack and wahoo. We have also faught some really big sharks lately.
We will be enjoying some offshore trolling trips in the next few weeks. We hope to see some dolphin, wahoo and hopefully tuna and marlin. The weather is great and the seas are calm.
