Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Orange Beach Alabama Deep Sea Fishing
Fishing from Orange Beach is good overall. The red snapper bite is still off and on but the deepwater bite has been consistent with a variety of fish. If you are looking for a serious fishing trip then you may want to choose the 12 hour or the Deluxe Full Day trip. The amberjack are beginning to appear on a few of our longer trips. However, variety is still the highlight of the longer trips. The 4 hour trolling trip is still a good family trip or just a good trip for the group that is looking for some cruising, relaxing, sightseeing and fishing for some spanish and king mackeral. The 6 hour trip is still producing some trolling fish but the snapper bite is slow. We have been having activity and catching a few keeper size snapper but releasing many short snapper.
A good friend of mine landed a couple of nice cow dolphin, a wahoo and released a blue marlin weighing approximately 300lbs last week on a full day offshore trolling trip. The offshore trolling bite is beginning to come to life. It is that time of year, so come on and lets go offshore trolling.
July 22nd, 2006 Mike Hatley and his group with some nice amberjack and a grouper in the 1st pic below. These fish were caught July 22nd.
How about this variety with amberjack, king mackeral, grouper, scamp and vermillion snapper seen in the 2nd pic below.
The 3rd pic below shows a happy family that caught many red snapper on a 6 hour trip but had to release most because they were too short. They did manage to catch enough keeper size snapper and a king mackeral for one of our local Orange Beach restaraunts to prepare a nice dinner from this fresh catch.
