Orange Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing Orange Beach Alabama in the Winter
Today's trip was planned to be a 10 hour offshore Alabama Deep Sea Fishing charter. Due to this last cold front, we decided on a half day redfish fishing trip. The wind was northeast instead of our usual north direction which made the seas a little more choppy along the beach. Fishing on the Getaway, a 36 foot Hatteras, definitely had its advantage over the smaller boats today. The small boats stayed inshore or at the dock. Our heated cabin was comfortable, but everyone chose to spend most of their time on the back deck waiting on the next bite. The redfish bite is still hot. We enjoyed having Timothy and his buddies from the Navy in Pensacola. (Thanks to this group and the many others that serve in our nations military.) Tim and his group chose to enjoy some sportfishing for these big Orange Beach redfish. We practiced catch and release but also saved a couple for several dinners. Another awesome half day redfish fishing trip in Orange Beach, Alabama. This redfish bite should continue to be good till early March. The cobia should move in by mid March through mid April.
