Don't forget November is customer appreciation month, anyone who books a trip this month. Will receive $10 - $30 in Mark's Outdoors gift certificates(one per person, max of three people per trip).
Bass fishing is still hot, we have been catching 5 fish limits weighing 16-18 pounds. On Smith, most people would take that in a heartbeat. We are catching fish all day on a variety of lures. Big jerkbaits seem to be bagging our biggest fish. Nothing beats watching a spot follow your bait, and with the right twitch, getting short line strikes. I've been fishing jerkbaits that run 3-7 feet deep, with the exception of one i fish that runs between 9-11feet depending on the line I use. I imagine the fishing will be a little slow in the morning for the next couple days. I will be fishing mid-morning to evening the next couple of day. Jerkbaits should be a huge part of your tackle box if your fishing Smith Lake. I have all bass trips for the next couple trips, then it's back to stripe. Stripe fishing is better but still not great, no fishing on top yet.
I will be having another "Where Is Mike" day on the lake. The first five people to run into me on the lake will receive a $10 Mark's Outdoors gift certificate. I will post a report on my website between Friday and Sunday morning. I will post the report early in the morning the day I am doing it. I will have a time and place here you can start looking for me. The first five people get one.
