Smith Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Smith Lake
December 16th, 2011
This past week has been real good stripe fishing. I am off the water today, my son has a christmas event. I spent most of last week in two places, Goat Island and Miller's Flat. I fished in water ranging from 40-80 feet mostly. Areas where the drop goes from 40 to 65 through 75 feet were the most productive ranges. We caught them on umbrella rigs(both swimbait and bucktail), spoons and live bait. We did see a little topwater action on Thursday but were busy catching fish and by the time we got over there they were gone. I'll be back on the water the rest of the weekend, the weather looks pretty good. The 10 day forecast looks consistent, so fishing should stay hot through Christmas. As this year is coming to a end, I'd like to thank everybody who booked a trip this year. I had a great time and have some memorable moments, hope y'all did too. So if your interested in booking a trip on Smith Lake give me a call.
Looking for last minute christmas gifts, I have 4, 6, and 8 hour trip gift certificates for sale. Gift certificates include everything the day will bring.
