Back on the lights for some more stripers. I had a return client from Mississippi and he brought a couple of characters with him. We launched out of Misty Harbor around 8 p.m. and headed out. As we headed out, I could see my first two lights already had someone on them. That trend continued on every light I fish passed Mallard Point. So we headed for big bridge and hoped for less traffic. We fished in Pigeon Roast and didn't see a boat the rest of the night. We had several light to work and no other people fishing them. That allowed use to catch fish on a light and go fish another one. Giving the fish we just hit time to settle and allowing us to maximize our time hitting other light. Let me start by saying, Buck has to be one of the nicest guys in Mississippi. Two times on my boat and not once has me took the front of the boat. He always allowing others with him the first cast or the prime positions on the boat. It's not because he doesn't like fishing I can tell you that. We caught all our fish on bucktail jigs with a secret trail. We found one light that had a lot more action then the rest. We worked that light for most of the night and boated some good fish. For two people on the boat it was there first time striper fishing and they were already looking for a boat on the ride back. While we caught some good fish, Buck hooked the biggest fish of the night. But lost it with his 12 lb. test braking. He was pretty hard on himself and we didn't make it any easier for him. After all I took a couple of jabs for having a fish brake off by the boat, trying to lip him. After taking the beating, I told him, he didn't want his picture takin with a minnow anyway. It was one of my funnest trips and a good night fishing.

I spent the weekend crappie fishing, taking full advantage of them in shallow water. We used 1/16oz. Roadrunner heads with Bobby Garland grubs. We caught all our crappie in flooded trees with depths ranging from 3 - 8 feet deep.
We also did some bass fishing on Sunday, looking for bedding bass. We managed to pull several overs with the biggest weighing 3 1/2 pound. I expect to see more fish moving in with everyday that passes. We caught bass about every way you can, from swimbaits to worms.
As for the stripe fishing, things continue to heat up as most all the fish I've caught lately are milking. Now for night fishing, some off the best lights have been off for over three days now. Hope it's because people went out of town for spring break. If your reading this and have a green light, please turn it back on. Hopefully with the end of spring break things will go back to normal.
Don't forget to checkout my weekday and night special. I'm trying to spend as much time on the water as I can.
