Smith Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report
Things are changing rapidly, the fish are on the move. Most fish have left the deeper water and are now adjusting to the new water temps all over the lake. The water temp is down to 68 degrees and dropping. It won't be long till we see some of the best topwater action of the year. Right now we've had some good trips and some tough ones. With the fish in transition it makes it tough for consistences. Over the next couple days things will settle down. It will be on, at that point. Mid November - December is some of the best fishing. We're about the only people on the water during those months. A lot of fish are between 25-40 feet. Live bait(free lined, planner boards, or down lined), jigging spoons, umbrella rigs, and downrigged lure are some of the techniques used during this time of year.
Target Species:
striped bass
