Year End

Capt. Jim Lucas
November 30, 2008
Yes Bay - Saltwater Fishing Report

The season at Yes Bay Lodge ended the last week of September. It closed with a bang! I reported in mid-August that the silver run started early and it did. We had large silver salmon in the 14 to 17 pound class right up to the close of the Lodge. This was the best silver season I have ever experienced. Limits of 6 fish per guest everyday! Several days I left the dock at 7:15 and we had our limit by 10:00 am.

Then we spent the rest of the day fishing for halibut and usually got our limit of 2 per person before the end of the day. Plus an assortment of rock fish.

Our season as a whole was fantastic, the King Salmon run was small and a little late. But we still managed some big fish in the 40 pound range. Overall the Lodge shipped close to 50 thousand pounds of fish for our customers.

If you want the best in Alaska fishing and beautiful accomodations and food, visit Yes Bay Lodge in SE Alaska. I would love to have you as a guest.
