Pre Springtime Trout not too shy

Capt. Bill Weaver
February 23, 2010
Cotter - Freshwater Fishing Report

For the past week here, we have had a variety of weather, from 60 degree days to 35 degrees and the wind blowing. Got so many bookings, we fish in whatever nature throws our way. Sculpins and shad have been the best bait on the larger class Trout (over 4 lbs), however it is difficult to get sculpins on the high water conditions we have had, so we have been using alot of shrimp and crawdad meat, which the smaller Trout also like. Catch numbers have been great, and not a whole lot of pressure on the fish yet makes for a busy day of releasing fish and re-baiting folks. This is going to be one of the best Springs ever for fishing here due to the high water we have had.

Cotter Fishing Forecast:

Weather conditions are going to remain as a mix for the next week, so fishing will remain very good, just be sure to wear layers and carry a high quality rain suit along. Thanks for reading and please check out our website at www.besttrout.com

Target Species:

Rainbow Trout and German Brown Trout
