SCALES Tournament - Port Lucaya, Bahamas

Capt. Nick Cremasco
July 2, 2013
Freeport - Saltwater Fishing Report

June 27:

We left today on the Kickin Tires and ran to West End and stayed at Blue Marlin Cove for the night. Beautiful place and highly recommended.

Practice fishing for the tournament tomorrow.

June 28:

Today we left the dock at noon in search of Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo, Grouper and Snapper. We caught a sail, jumped a small blue marlin off and caught a 1/2 dozen tuna.

June 29:

Today we fished the second day of the SCALES Tournament in Port Lucaya and ran 77 miles back to the marina to weigh in at 5 o'clock. We were allowed to weigh two fish in each category (Tuna, Dolphin, Wahoo, Grouper, Snapper) We weighed two of the 8 tuna we caught, we weighed 2 Snapper and 2 Grouper. We ended the tournament in 4th place overall out of 30 boats. We also came in 2nd place in the deep drop division and weighed the 3rd heaviest fish in the tournament.
