Chinook Fishing
As forecasted the BC Chinook are starting to show up in great numbers. The past few years Chinook fishing has been pretty good, but now fishing is literally bonkers! Our catches have been in the expected 10-25lb range, and that is just the start. The commercial fleet is usually given just a few days opening each year, however this year they have been going for months with no signs of closing.
Now everyone can experience the eventful BC fishing! The usual suspects are working. We have success with the 3-3.5 inch Coyote and Silver Horde Spoons from 80-120 feet down. Green and Blue colors are very consistent here and reeling in results! The glow needlefish hutchies are working as well. The fishing hotspots Great Bear, Sail Rock and South Bank are all producing well.
Halibut Fishing
BC Halibut are also showing up in good numbers. This year ranks high in the best early season halibut fishing we have had for years. We found that bottom bouncing and anchor with power bait have been successful tactics.
