Ucluelet Fishing Report April 19, 2013

Capt. Sam Vandervalk
April 19, 2013
Ucluelet - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing hasn't been on fire for Chinook salmon, but we have been picking up a
few nice ones in the teens on most of the trips we have been doing. We have been using needle fish hutches and coyote spoons around Great Bear rocks. The spoons are producing better, though we have been running a spoon on one side and a needle fish hutchie on the other side. The weather has been better the last few days and that always makes fishing easier. The great thing about early spring fishing is you will get some crab as well. We are also catching ling cod around the rocks. There are a few halibut around, though we haven't been targeting them too much. Our guide Dan was fishing for some ling cod on the way home and picked up a 40 lb halibut.
