Bridgeport Reservoir: Best still water in the area currently!
Click on www.sierradrifters.com/fish.htm to view the great fish being caught at Bridgeport…
It has been a few years since I have seen the quality, and quantity of fish here. The abundant water in the lake has made for excellent conditions in most areas of the lake. We are seeing a good spread of fish including some large browns showing up in 10-12 feet along the weed lines. Water clarity is great for this time of year and there is NO algae!
Small midge and broken back patterns, Killa-baetis, and Pt's in the #16-20 range are crushing the fish on the flats and along the drop-offs for still water nymphing addicts. It is very good here folks -the Bridge is going off right now and I strongly suggest you check it out, or give us a call for a guided trip.
You can also tug some damsel fly imitations for a shot at some jumbos near the weed lines close to the marina, and near the public launch ramp. Fish are hanging in the 8-12 foot range. The morning bite is hot and really kicks off if a breeze picks up mid-day. Watch the T-storms this time of year if you are in a small boat or tube.
You will be treated like family here by the staff and will have a great time thanks to their efforts.
Be the fly...Tom Loe
