Weekly report but now 12 days of limits!

Sacramento River - Freshwater Fishing Report

8-31-11 Weekly Report

The last week has seen excellent king salmon fishing on the Sacramento River in the Chico area, upstream from the Irvine Finch landing. Captain Kevin Brock of Kevin Brock's Guide Service has guideded his clients to full limits every day in the past week. Actually, Kevin's clients have caught full limits for 12 days in a row so far, landing a total of 116 salmon up to 28 pounds. That's just excellent fishing. "These salmon are fresh and very bright," reports Kevin, "and the meat is red, firm, and great eating! We're drifting roe on light tackle, with a 12 pound main line and 10 pound leader, on Penn Slammer spinning reels and G. Loomis GL3 light rods. There are a lot of fish in the river."

When a stocky salmon hits on that light tackle, it's a lot of fun, with the rod going completely bendo and the line sizzling off the reel. With Kevin's skillful guidance, the fish are usually in the boat before long, then on the dinner table that evening for a delicious fresh salmon meal. To see how it is done, some recent Sacramento River salmon fishing videos have been posted on Kevin Brock's YouTube page at www.youtube.com/fishkevinbrock. "We've also put together a nice fishing video highlighting some of the exciting salmon action over the last week," says Kevin, " so be sure to check that out too."

When the fishing gets hot, people want to know about it! Kevin Brock has made it easy to subscribe to the latest fishing news on the waters he is fishing. The fishing report on the fishkevinbrock.com website is a good place to start. If you like daily reports delivered to your inbox, the Hot Bite report is sent out whenever the fishing has been great, along with details and pictures from the day's fishing. The Weekly Fishing Report is sent out every Wednesday, with a summary for the week and some pictures. (Emails will not be used for any other purpose, you may unsubscribe at any time, and existing weekly users can click on the link to add themselves to the Hot Bite report.) Don't forget Facebook and Twitter, as Hot Bites are announced there as well. You can also send a text message with "fishkevinbrock" to 22828 to subscribe to the weekly report. Whew, with all those options, there's no excuse not to know when there is terrific fishing going on.

A recent addition to the fishkevinbrock.com website that all serious anglers will want to know about is the River Water Levels page, which has real-time water level graphs for the Feather, Sacramento, and Smith Rivers. Is that river rising and bringing up even more fish? Is it stable so the fish are settled? Now you can quickly tell. The Sacramento River has been pretty steady at about 12,000 CFS, which is great for fishing.

In summary, fishing on the Sacramento River for the week of 8-24-11 to 8-31-11 has been excellent for fresh, bright king salmon, with limits every day. It's definitely a great time to go! Kevin Brock can be contacted at 800-995-5543.
