Pagosa Springs - Freshwater Fishing Report

The fishing has been very good the last few weeks. On the local waters we have been seeing rising fish to caddis and mayfly's every day. Some of the best fishing with dry flies have been between 11:00am – 2:00pm and then again in the late afternoon till dusk. Steam flows have been good compared to last year, but we still need rain to keep the stream levels up and to help the fire fighters in Colorado. Hopefully we will have the monsoon season starting the first part of July.
The fishing on the ranch has been excellent, lots of big strong fish. We were surprised to see it fishing so good after all the low water last year. I found several back water pools with a bunch of fingerling brown trout. It is great to see so many year classes of trout after some low water years.

The Patrick family with a double at the ranch.

Sarah Taylor with a big bow from the ranch, and the West Fork Fire in the background.
