Inconsistent fishing this week

Capt. Mark Anderson
July 1, 2014
Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

This past week saw some good catches, and some not so good. The fishing has remained consistently inconsistent. We have landed some very nice stripers this week drifting bunker. Fish in the 25-40 lb range have cooperated, just not in big numbers. We are still waiting for the resident bass to settle in. Bluefish have been on the increase. Fluke are also increasing day by day. July and August should provide much better fishing. The good thing is live bunker have been plentiful.

Kingfisher Charters will provide fishing excitement that is customized for you and your group. We will personally discuss with you the type of trip that best suits your needs and desires. From the beginner to the advanced we offer fishing adventures other boats can't match.. A typical full day trip can take you light tackle casting, to live bait fishing, then to deep water trolling for striped bass, bluefish, and fluke. We specialize in live bait fishing for trophy sized bass in shallow water.
