Eastern Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound

Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

What a weekend and beginning to the week as well. The race still isn’t it’s usual self, the strong tides during the full moon keep the fish that are there tight to the structure. Best to fish around the slacks during the new and full moon periods. We were able to limit out sat. and sun. with our customers, fishing reefs close to shore with live eels was the ticket. Makes for an exciting experience when you have a 40 lb'er on light tackle. Penn 650, six and a half foot ugly stick and 16 pound test. HOLD ON.

We also made our first offshore run last minute because we couldn’t pass up Tuesday’s weather. Like glass is how we in the boating world say it. We’ll 10 blue sharks later and a 300 pounder to boot we decided we made the right choice. Fished the horns and most of the action was half way between them, water temp 65/66. Stay tuned for more offshore reports, next on the menu is Tuna. If you’re interested in booking a trip with us visit my website.
