Eastern Long Island Sound and Block Island Sound

Capt. Mark Anderson
August 30, 2002
Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

This past week has been an up and down week. The bass, having been hot one day and cold the next. The blues have been around in good numbers all over the eastern sound. Especially, at the race. Poppers and swimmers have been nailing them. Blackfish are around as well; we have been taking them on green crabs. Try a whole crab when the porgies are around and cut off most of the legs. Fluke have been hot lately with good-sized fish. The draggers have filled their quota, so get in on the big fluke action before they are gone for the summer. The bass action is about to get super hot as they put the feed bags on for their winter migration. Check out our 4-hour after work trips during the week to get in on some hot sunset fishing.
