Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Kingfisher took out the Marchese charter Sunday for some Millstone schoolie striped bass action. Small sassy shad’s and fin-S-fish were the ticket. Everyone had a blast catching about 60 fish. Spotted bait and birds working along the ride from Mystic to Millstone. Even though the water temps are still low the fish will still follow the bait. This weekend look for fish from the Hudson to move into the Race and Plum Gut to feed. Try umbrella rigs with sassy shad’s or parachute jigs for trolling and bucktails or small diamond jigs (4 oz.)for drifting. Also, reports of fluke have shown up along the Montauk shores. We will be heading out there this weekend to get in on the action. Last year this time one of our charters scored big with 22 keepers with a 13 pounder mixed in.
