2008 Season starting off GREAT! on the Kingfisher

Capt. Mark Anderson
June 4, 2008
Long Island Sound - Saltwater Fishing Report

First trip out this year started out great for the Kingfisher. Stripers were stacked up on the reef and we were hitting fish on every drift. All stripers in the mid sized range with the biggest going 38 inches. Great way to start off the year. Looks like it's going to be another great year for our customers. Hickory shad (our premier live bait) have been showing up in the river and tons of bunker have made an early appearance. Over the past several seasons more and more bunker have been showing up in the eastern part of the sound. This is a perfect scenario for the Kingfisher since we developed our niche by putting customers on hundreds of trophy stripers using live bait. June is almost booked solid but we still have plenty of open spots in July for you to get in on the great fishery around the Mystic Area of Long Island Sound. Check out our website and give us a call if your interested in a trip.

Target Species:

Striped Bass in the 30, 40, and 50 pound class
