New Haven - Saltwater Fishing Report

Last night my partner Captain Kathy Granfield and I had our most rewarding trip to date. This year we started taking Veterans out fishing a couple times a month.
We had to move this trip a few times due to all the rain in June but last night we finally made it out with them.
We all met at the dock at 5 pm and got everyone introduced and boarded onto The Black Mariah and were fishing by 5:30 and by 5:40 we had our first keeper bass in the boat. We decided to troll wire first due to the lack of bunker in the area. The action was quick with many double hook ups. we had to pick thru a bunch of shorts but the guys were having a ball.
The 2nd part of the trip we anchored up and had a few guys fish for scup and then we chunked them for a few more bass, blues, and sand sharks.
This really was a great trip and it was great to give something back to the guys that protect our country. I really look forward to our next trip out and another group of vets, I also hope to see some of the guys from last nights trip.
On July 16 Captain Kathy and I will be on CTV. We will be on the show "The Sand Box Chronicles"
We will be talking about Charter fish and our trips with the Vets.
