New Haven - Saltwater Fishing Report

Sunday I had my first Charter of the 09 season. Todays guests were Alyssa ,Kevin and Pete. Kevin and pete are fresh water guys that want to experance Striper fishing.
As usual the weather man was totaly wrong. The light east winds were more like 15mph and the chance of a passing shower turned out to be rain for 2 1/2 hours.
With a dropping tide and a east wind I knew I had my work cut out for me. The Bass were stacked tight to the reef in one 50 ft spot. (thank god for side scan) and wind against the tide was pure hell on the drifting.
We were drifting live bunker on a 7 ft leader with a 16 oz weight. One I located the pod of bass on the side scan, marked the spot. The Fish really didnt want to eat and the blues were only taking one bite out of the bunker and going on there way. We kept at it and put a few quality fish in the boat. Every one had a great time and I look forward to fishing with them again.
I only have a couple of pictures at the moment but I will post more when I get them.
These pictures were taken on my camera phone and dont do the fish justice. Especially Alyssa's Bass, it was a real brusier of a fish.
