Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Chris Oliviero of Maryland and his father-in-law, Desmond Barry Jr. of Greenwich, CT, spent Saturday morning aboard "My Bonnie" as a Father's Day celebration for the two men. The action was almost steady for the full trip--with blues and bass coming in on light tackle. More than 20 fish were boated, and all were released. Among the catch-and-release were some keeper-size porgies.
Our next trip was on Tuesday--with Andrew Hascoe of Greenwich, and his teen-aged son, Harrison. They had a great day, fighting bluefish on the surface--using light tackle--and bringing in an occasional striped bass.
On Thursday we sailed mid-morning with "My Bonnie" regular, Robert Remin of White Plains, and his daughter Elena, who just graduated from college. The Remins caught about two dozen bluefish--with Elena bringing one in at about eight pounds--and when we switched our rigs for bass, they brought in five stripers--with one keeper 31".
