Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well, "My Bonnie" is back at her berth in Village Creek, all fitted up with her new state-of-the-art Yamaha engine as well as some upgraded electronics to help us find even more fish for our passengers this year.
Joining me as I was bringing the boat into my home port was good friend and great fisherman, Amin (Emilio) Pandolfi of Danbury. Just for the fun of it we made a few brief stops along the way to see if we could find any cooperative fish willing to hit our artificial lures. We didn't expect much at this point in time (with water temps running only between 46-48°) so we weren't really disappointed when we saw no images on the Lowrance screen--nor anything wriggling at the end of our lines. But it was great to get back on the waters of Long Island Sound after an almost six-month hiatus.
Some local buddies have been trying their luck over the past two weeks, but they've reported little success. It's still a bit early, but the situation should change within the next two-three weeks, and the season should be in full swing by the middle of May.
