The catch is still unpredictable...

Capt. Sal Tardella

Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

What happened yesterday probably won't happen today, and what happens today probably won't happen tomorrow. No consistency or predictability when you leave the dock.

We've been getting a variety of fish including small stripers, medium-size blues, smallish sea bass, and a keeper fluke once in a while. Porgy action is still slow, which is really disappointing for this time of the year.

The best fishing for those looking for large striped bass is in the late evening or at dawn, but we don't fish that way. Friends and colleagues have been bringing in some lunkers--mostly to be returned to the Sound after they've been caught.

More Fishing Reports:

Light tackle fishing in Long Island Sound May through November. Targeting striped bass, bluefish, porgies, fluke. 25-foot C-Hawk customized sportsfisherman with fully-enclosed pilot house. Fishing in Florida December through early April. For Sebastian fishing information, please see FLORIDA FISHING page at: www.mybonniecharters.com
