Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

On Wednesday we had Myles Slater of Pound Ridge NY aboard "My Bonnie" Air temps were fairly low for this time of year, but we bundled up and were able to plug up large bluefish 8-10 pounds around the Norwalk Islands.
Thursday's trip was with Brian Swee, Lou Gizzarelli, and Todd Thum--all of Newburgh NY. It was another cold morning--with NE winds pumping at 15-20--keeping us from venturing too far from the shoreline. We worked the Norwalk River and did well, boating four large blues and losing five at the boat. There was also one striped bass that came over the side, measuring about 23".
We fished on Sunday, September 28, with Norwalkers, Whight Martindale and his young daughters, Stella and Bye. The girls caught their first bluefish ever, but most of the day was spent bringing in porgies.
Monday we sailed with "My Bonnie" regular, Robert Remin of White Plains, who this time brought along his son, Daniel--a resident of Hartford. They had a wonderful morning, bringing in blues 8-10 pounds on surface plugs and Rebel swimmers.
Tuesday's passengers were Gary Lattrell and his wife, Ellen--and Ellen's nephew, Andrew--all from New Paltz NY. We began the trip with some nice bluefish and a 26" striper--all caught on plugs--and when the action slowed down, we moved into deeper water, where we jigged up some more blues at 28C.
