Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We went out at 2pm on Monday with Frank Chieffalo of Danbury and Clark Winchell of Bethel, CT. For a change the winds were low, and we got a chance to get into deep water fairly quickly. We jigged up large bluefish (biggest was 14 pounds,) and when our passengers got tired of bringing in blues, we went in search of blackfish and had good action, boating more than 15–keeping four for the table.
Friday was a fairly pleasant day, and we left the dock at 8am with Robert Remin of White Plains NY and his son, Daniel, a resident of West Hartford. The action was a bit slow getting started, but after a steady hour and half of jigging they tallied about ten blues, with the largest weighing 14.5 pounds. The Remins also enjoyed bringing in close to a dozen blackfish, with five keepers in the lot.
We went out Sunday morning with chiropractor, Dr. Tom Woodman of Stamford—specifically targeting blackfish—and after making a few drops off some ledges we limited out on blacks up to six pounds.
We'll be pulling "My Bonnie" out of the water on November 9, and after she's safely in dry dock we'll be getting ready to travel to FL for the winter months. We fish in the Sebastian Inlet and the Indian River from early December until the middle of April. For all information on our Florida charters, please see our Florida Fishing page.
