Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well, the water is finally warming up, and so is the action--but most of it is still on the Long Island side.
Manhattanite, Mark Greenberg, and party worked the north shore along Sunken Meadow and non-stop bluefish action on chrome Creek Chubs and bucktails with chartreuse Mr. Twister lures.
Mark DeCruccio of Westport and two business associates endured a very rough trip in high seas and rain, but we fished the Northport power plant and they were rewarded for their stamina with excellent bluefishing--in the two-four pound range.
Doug DeBergere of Weston spent Father's Day fishing with his dad, mom, and 7-year-old son. Their day was perfect--with warm weather, calm seas, and sunshine. We fished the Nissaquogue River in 25-30 feet of water, where we had steady porgy action--with the fish running 12-17", plus a sea bass of 4-and a half pounds. We picked up some fluke drifting in the same area. On our way home in we saw some swirls the middle of the Sound, and everyone began to blindcast and hooked up with blues 4-6 pounds just under the surface.
More bait is showing up everywhere, and blues seem to be all over the place, too. Stripers are still being caught off 11B, trolling parachute rigs, chunking bunker, and drifting sandworms
