Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Rick Dayhuff of Fairfield fished the Long Island side near the Coast Guard station, where we found blues finning. Dayhuff hooked into several 3-5 pounds, after which “My Bonnie” moved to the golf course area and caught large porgies.
Mark DeCruccio of Weston entertained some clients last week. Everyone enjoyed bringing in bluefish and some keeper fluke, as well as a nice mess of porgies.
Fred Peasik and his party from Stamford had a great time with porgies and sea bass up to 20".
Joe Castagna, manager of Pasta Fair in Norwalk, had a family outing aboard "My Bonnie", bringing along his three wonderful children and his father-in-law, Dan McGee of Stamford. It was a beautiful day, and everyone caught porgies, bluefish, and sea bass.
Joe Pitts of Wilton fished “My Bonnie” with his son and his son's friend for another fantastic day on Long Island Sound. They did very well with fluke, boating 12, five of which were keepers, plus blues and porgies.
Joe Pettit of Stamford and his father-in-law spent a very pleasant Sunday morning, bringing in 14 fluke, with 8 keepers up to 20" plus bluefish 2-3 pounds and a handful of large porgies.
The Long Island side of the Sound is holding fluke and blues and porgies and a nice smattering of sea bass.
We had a great dinner of freshly-caught fish on Saturday night. I took my wife, Bonnie, and our friend, Dr. Joe DelTito of Rowayton (a renowned psychiatrist and a Court TV consultant--as well as an avid local fisherman) to Jani Restaurant on the Norwalk/Wilton line. We shared a dinner of sea bass and fluke, cooked up for us by the talented hibachi chefs. The fish were stupendous, and it was the perfect way to spend a Saturday evening after a long hot day on the water.
