Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Bob Fiske party of Darien loaded up on a mixed bag of bluefish, fluke and porgies.
Tom Fischetti of South Salem NY, brought along four business colleagues, all good anglers, and they had a super day fishing throughout the Norwalk Islands, bringing in 42 bass on light tackle, with the largest coming in at 26". The group also caught some fluke and porgies.
Cornelis Zoon of Newtown entertained relatives from Finland, and the group boated ten stripers up to 30"--again around the Islands--on mackerel chunks.
Jerry VonDohlen of Westport and his brother, Paul, and their father--visiting from New Jersey--caught some nice stripers in the Norwalk Islands, boating 10 up to 25". On the Long Island side we had steady action on the surface with 2-4 pound blues. The day ended with a catch of a few short flukes.
As a birthday present for her husband, Jose, Sonia Pires of Fairfield took him and two of their friends on a fishing trip aboard My Bonnie. Everyone got into the action, starting with schoolie bass around the Islands and a couple of nice blackfish,3-4 pound keepers. We then we made our way across the Sound, and on the Long Island side the two couples caught bluefish on the surface--a first for all aboard. We finished off the trip at 11B, bringing in blues up to 10 pounds, using frozen mackerel chunks for bait.
