Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Joe Pitts of Wilton and his party of four, including his son and another young angler and his father, had a good day at Wilson Cove catching five bluefish up to 12 pounds and two keeper striped bass.
Len Fromato of Darien brought along his father and his 6-year-old son for their first trip with us. They had a super day, boating seven bluefish in the 8-13 pound range and three keeper stripers, bringing home the one that came in at 16.5 pounds and releasing the other two. This fish won't be on the dinner table, however, because it was caught by the youngest Fromato, and both father and grandfather acceded to the budding angler's request to have the striper mounted for posterity. The family went directly from "My Bonnie" to Fisherman's World, the biggest anglers' shop in Norwalk, to have the job done.
Major-sized schools of bunker have moved into our area--possibly the largest showing in years--bringing with them large bluefish and keeper bass feeding under most of the schools.
