Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Rick DiBartolo of Redding used a gift certificate given him by his wife for Father's Day. He brought along a nephew for company, and they had a great morning, beginning with three nice bass--one a 33" keeper--then working the bluefish on top.
Terry Reed of Danbury and her party began the day with good porgy fishing inside the Norwalk Islands, after which we made our way to Shippan Point, where we found bluefish finning on the surface. Everyone got into the action with Creek Chub poppers.
Jason Murphy of New Canaan brought his 6-year old son for the boy's first fishing trip. They had a lot of fun with porgies, and Jason caught a respectable bass on an Al Gag lure. Both father and son also brought in some blues on plugs.
Ron Weiner of Westport brought along some business associates who weren't very experienced fishermen. After a quick lesson in how to use a spinning reel, they enjoyed landing lots of bluefish off of Green's Ledge Light. It was a great introduction to fishing with light tackle.
Charles Barthold of New Canaan brought his three sons aboard "My Bonnie" to celebrate the youngest boy's birthday. The whole family had a wonderful day with non-stop porgy fishing in 30 feet of water off of Middle Passage. We then found blues hitting peanut bunker off of Copp's, and everyone got into the action.
