Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We had a very busy week, although we had to deal with high winds and low temps on most trips.
Peter Armstrong, visiting from Liverpool, England, had great day fishing off of Sunken Island near Bridgeport, with 18 bass up to 26” and a few blues—all caught on light tackle. Armstrong complained about the fishing conditions back home—says they’re getting worse each year—and it’s been years since he’s had a catch like the one on Long Island Sound.
Jeremy Deleski of Peekskill and two buddies visiting from Denham, Massachusetts—Russell Glenn and his son, Derek—boated almost 30 bass, with 12-year-old Derek bringing in a keeper weighing 16 pounds.
William Mulvey of Long Island and his friends also caught schoolie bass off of Westport; group tallied 18 altogether up to 27”.
Paul Stokes of Greenwich returned for his second trip this month; he and his friends got more than 30 bass—all on white bucktails and chartreuse Mr. Twisters.
James McMahon of Ridgefield and his son, Jim, had a good day fishing Cockenoe; Jim’s last cast of the day yielded a 36-inch striper on 10-lb. test tackle.
