Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We fished early in the week with Dr. Joseph Deltito, a Rowayton resident (who also is a frequent guest on CNN and Court TV). Dr. Joe was entertaining friends from Georgia, and everyone caught schoolie bass working around the Islands, using Rattle Traps and bucktails.
Scott Howard of Westport took two trips with us this week. On each trip he brought along two buddies. The first threesome had fun with bluefish and striped bass caught off of Stamford early in the week, and on Sunday the other group caught fluke up to 21" plus a few blues in Sunken Meadow.
David Basile treated his father to a birthday fishing trip, and the pair caught more than 18 bass and a few blues off of Westport and Cockenoe Island.
Ted Inglesias and his father-in-law of Brooklyn spent Saturday catching 16 bass up to 25", six fluke (two keepers 19" and 21") plus a few small blues.
We're still awaiting major showings of large-sized bass in our local waters; right now they're in Rye and Hempstead, but after moving through Stamford, they should be arriving in the Norwalk area any time now.
