Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

Monty Elliff of Greenwich and two buddies fished around the Islands, catching lots of school-sized bass and a few blues in the 2-4 pound class. On the other side we got some fluke--with two keepers--and some large porgies. The porgy season doesn't open until July 23, so the scup got a break and were returned to the water.
We fished again with Scott Howard of Westport, and since it was Father's Day, Scott brought along his five-year-old son, Andrew. Father and son had a wonderful day, with Andrew bringing in a 3-foot sand shark along with some schoolies. It was the boy's first fishing experience, and we know he'll be back for more.
The bunker are finally in Norwalk Harbor, Green's Ledge Light, and Wilson Cove--with large bass and blues under them in the early morning. The Saugatuck is also holding large stripers under the bunker schools.
