Report for Long Island Sound

Capt. Sal Tardella
March 31, 2005
Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We wound up our Florida operation a few days ago, and we'll be getting our Connecticut boat ready in the next two weeks, ready to sail again the third week in April.

The fishing down here in Sebastian this winter was rather disappointing, with the local waters still suffering the effects of last September's hurricanes. Tourism was also affected by the ravages of the storms, with many businesses finally reopening over the past month and several others remaining with blue-tarped roofs and boarded-up windows. About half of the docks and launching ramps are still unusable. The rebuilding will continue throughout the spring and summer months, and we know that things will be back to normal next fall.

I'm very excited about getting back on Long Island Sound and fishing with my "regulars" again. I'll be reachable by phone on my cell--203-515-9417--until about April 7, after which I'll be able to take calls again at 203-866-6313 and we'll be able to answer our e-mails at [email protected] as of the same date.
