Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

On Friday Ed Kosinski of New York City took a solo trip. We found bluefish on top off of Cockenoe—in the 3-5 pound class.
Saturday morning we hosted Dr. Michael Innerfield of West Nyack NY, along with his son Steve, and his daughter Diana. We started off with blues off of Cockenoe, and when we moved inside off of Westport we stopped counting the striped bass after 15—with one keeper that measured 29”. We finished off the day with a mess of porgies, and everyone was happy with their catch of the day.
On Sunday morning we sailed with George Yoguez of Trumbull and his three sons, George Jr., Travis, and Harrison. We tallied 14 striped bass; then we switched our tackle in pursuit of porgies—catching more than 30, and keeping 10 for the table. It was a crisp, sunny morning, and the action was steady throughout the trip; needless to say, the family was very satisfied with their first experience aboard "My Bonnie".
Sunday afternoon’s trip was for our regulars, Virginia Kamsky and her son, Michael, of Wilson Point and NYC—who brought along Michael’s pal, Ian, who resides in New York City. The bass catch was nonstop, with the boys bringing in 19 stripers up to 24”. They also caught a lot of porgies and kept a few for their Sunday dinner.
