Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We sailed Friday morning with Michael Tardella of Danbury, along with three of his softball team buddies. They got bluefish up to 13 pounds and some schoolie bass. We also saw lots of blues on the surface off of Westport, hitting peanut bunker.
On Saturday morning Henk Hartong of New Canaan treated his son, Henk Jr. to a birthday celebration aboard "My Bonnie". The birthday boy brought along four of his friends, and everyone caught striped bass, bluefish up to 7 pounds, finishing off the day with a nice mess of porgies.
Sunday's trip was with Derek Shapiro of Greenwich and his 88-year-old father, Sid--of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn NY--along with Derek's friend, Diane Lauricella of Norwalk. It was a rough morning, with high winds, but we managed to get a few bass and bluefish, plus lots of keeper porgies.
Tuesday we sailed with Robert Remin of White Plains and his brother and nephew. The winds were with us again, but after a slow start we found bluefish off of Westport and did well with top-water action, tallying more than a dozen blues 4-6 pounds.
