Report for Long Island Sound

Norwalk Islands - Saltwater Fishing Report

We had just one charter last week--on Sunday morning--with one of our regulars, Derek Shapiro of Greenwich. He brought along his father, Sydney, and sister, Abby, of NYC--all good anglers. It was a bit windy, but we got the family into schoolie-sized stripers, feeding on the surface off of the Saugatuck. We then moved closer to home and got some nice bluefish up to 9 pounds--all caught on bucktails.
On Tuesday I again had the opportunity to be the "camera boat" for the well-known fishing pro, George Poveromo, while his team of photographers were shooting the action as he fished along with Rick Mola, the owner of Fisherman's World. There was lots of action, especially off of 11B, where they jigged up lots of blues--and then plugged up some more at Northport off the stacks. If all goes as planned, the day's events will be part of an ESPN show next spring or summer.
We'll be pulling "My Bonnie" out of the water on November 12 to prepare her a for winter hiatus. Then, right after Thanksgiving, we'll be heading down to Sebastian, and our Florida charters will begin around December 1--and continue through early April '08. So, if anyone wants to get into the autumn action on Long Island Sound, they should contact us as soon as possible; there aren't many dates left. And those who'll be traveling southward over the next few months might want to check out the FLORIDA FISHING info on my site, www.mybonniechartes.com
